Culture Cops (4): In England

Trev is answering the phones. He must tell a woman in London about a dog-related law.

Tre: Thank you for calling the International Culture Cops hotline. This is Officer Trev. How may I assist you?

W: Yes sir. I’m visiting London, England from out of the country, and I rented a car to get around here. I have my International Drivers License so I’m legal to drive here. But my car just broke down, and I’m not quite sure what to do. I don’t have a number for a tow, and I have my dog with me.

Trev: Well, I’d advise that you please remain pulled over, and get out of the car to make other travelers notice you better, as well as to help officers on the way find you better. However, according to British law, your dog must remain in the car.

W: What? My dog goes CRAZY if he isn’t right next to me!

Trev: I understand, ma’am. Perhaps you could crack open a window or something? But you’ll be ticketed if you bring him out of the car with you.

W: Understood. I’ll be sure to leave him in the car. I don’t want a ticket. Any idea how long it’ll take for someone to come and give us a hand?

Trev: Officers are on their way, ma’am. In the meantime, give us a howl if you need anything else!

W: Will do, sir. Thank you! (Written by Matteen Aminpour)
